Title: Maximizing Nash Social Welfare under Lexicographic Valuations
Abstract:
In this talk, I will discuss recent work on fair division of indivisible goods when agents have lexicographic valuations: each agent ranks the goods, and every good is worth more than all lower-ranked goods combined. We study the complexity of computing an allocation that maximizes the geometric mean of the utilities of the agents. This objective, known as the Nash Social Welfare, is a well-studied measure that simultaneously provides fairness and efficiency guarantees. Joint work with Soumil Aggarwal and Rohit Vaish.
